How does ethnocentricity cause conflict?

In year 1788, the British arrived to Australia to colonize and they settled the place where nowadays we call as Sydney. The British were surprised at what they were looking because the First Australians were different from them. The First Australians had different skin color. Their culture, law and their believe system was all different. Therefore, the British wanted to connect with them to gain the relationship. Hence, they sent their leader Benelong to change him like as British. Eventually, their plan was unsuccessful and they described Benelong as unchangeable animal and this lead the British and Australians to ethnocentric. Although their relationships looked close and well built, from the British point a view they described First Australians as savage, wild, uneducated and uncivilized, these thoughts lead them to think that the First Australians were not human. Thus, as the British law they could take over the lands because natives were not human, which means there were no owners and therefore they had rights to colonize and to take over the land. Yet, The First Australians couldn't escape as their law was pay back. Then at the end they had a war and the natives lost. Therefore, after the war the natives didn't have a rights and to speak.

Context: Artemidorus is writing a letter for Caesar about in ides of march and beware of conspiracy

Artemidorus is saying that Caesar beware of brutus, Casca, Cinna, Trebonius, Metellus Cimber, Decius, Caius Ligarius and cassius. They might kill you in ides of march. However Their is irony that is Caesar going to believe it or not. Therefore, Artemidorus is saying that "If thou read this, O Caesar, thou may'st live; If not, the fates with traitors do contrive.

I chose this passage because to show that also someone in the Rome who is on Caesar's side so that he wants to save Caesar.

My learning profile

I am a logic thinker with an "A" profile. I was suprised by the sheet because it was written as I learned best when I focus on the details and I have an ability to follow step-by-step visual and auditory instructions. When I first read this learning profile sheet I didn't never noticed and I thought I was very bad at those things. However, now when I think about my past experiences actually some were correct and it was just for me. For example, the language is very imprtant for learning but, I have to work more harder to improve myself.

I think my weakest part is doing work by step by step, I always prefer to do work step by step and to rememmber to do it, but I always keep forget it. Personally I think that is the reason why I keep loosing my points in test or in projects. also I am using only left brain because I use my right side of hand, leg and eye. Therefore, I would have some difficulties for connecting emotional informations. In this case, I have to particepate in class with possitive and enjoyable motion experiences will help me.

The strategy to help me with my learning would be to always think myself and remmber to work step by step so that I do not ever make any mistakes. Also try to use more my right side of brain so that I can hear and see more efficiently.

The teachers may want to know about me that I really like to sit in front!!! It helps me to particepate in class so that I don't talk with my friends so that I do not miss any keypoints and also to sit infront may help me because I will ask more questions and answer more qustions so that I understand better and focus more.

How does art mirror society?

I choose a paint tittled as "Vitruvian man" by da Vinci in 1487. Sometime people discried him as archetype of Renaissance man, a man who had billian of qestions and curiosity because of his questions and curiosity made a lot of inventions and made the Renaissance knowledgeble. Also he was one of the best artists of all period and perhaps the most intellegent person in the world. Thus "Vitruvian man" is one of his invention and paint. The painting, which is in pen and ink on paper, shows one male has two positions with his arms and legs apart simultaneously used in a circle and square. The drawing is based on the size of our human body with well discribed in geometry. This painting depicts that the church is loosing their power and got freedom from the church because in middle ages people couldn't came up with their own ideas because of the power of church and the Bibles, then people were keep inquiring to the church about science and knowledge, then the church couldn't answer it. Therefore people started not to believe in faith and had freedom. Thus da Vinci seems to came up with his own ideas and came up with new knowledge of human body in Renaissance time, so that depicts in the people of Renaissance time could made their own ideas and got freedom from the church.

Driving Forces of the Renaissance

"Which one driving force do you think was the most crucial in creating the Renaissance's explosion of ideas? Why?

Renaissance is a period from 14th centry to 16th centry and the city state of Florence first began. It was also very important period of driving force and discovering acient knowledge. For example, there were banking & trading, riverty, art, education and acient knowlege. Among those examples, Banking & trading were the most crucial in creating the Renaissance's explosion of ideas and driving force. This is because, people could travel over the contries and continents for trade some better metrials and goods. They also observed other country's ideas and used those source to make their countries better and improved knowledge. Therefore, I thought banking & trading were the most important driving force and exposions of ideas.

"Please get me out of here! In the dark place!!" Itouch (Iphone) is the most popular music player in these days. I can listen to music whenever I want to. Also, I can put some videoes and games in it! It used to be my favorite technology toy and I always put in my pocket wherever I went. However, these days I don't put it in my pocket anymore, I put it on my desk. This is because it is really annoying to download the music, games and videos. Another reason is that I heard that it is harmful to our health. For example, it is bad for our ears and it distracts us from focusing on our work. Therefore, I am trying to stop listening to music.So, I hid in the desk, eventhough I hid the ipod myself, I forgot where I put it. However there is an advantages of having an Ipod. For example. if I am angry or sad, I can calm down easily when I listen to the music. So, if I am angry or sad I guess I have to search high and low to look for my Ipod.

Dear Mom and dad 14/04/10

Thank you for coming to parent conference. Today I will show you my works that I done in trimester 3 and my test scores. I am going to show you other stuffs too. For example, my educations, work skills and my projects. Please do not disappointed if my test or project score is bad. This is because I am here today to show what level am I and my works. In this trimester I had seven classes, which is Global issues, ESL, Write on, P.E, Math, Science and Drama. I am great to share my works and please enjoy in prarent conference. The True Ending

Finally!! I finished Maniac Magee!! The ending was fascinating and it was so romantic, because Mars Bar and Maniac became a friend, continued to live in Amanda's house and they apologized each other . My first prediction was wrong because I was guessing way to far. For example becoming a adult. However I really liked the story and how the story ends. I think I love to read other book that written in same author as this book!!

The End of Maniac

I loved Maniac Magee's story and I couldn't believe that I almost finished it!! Maniac had a lot of problem between African American because of their in skin color. However Maniac ignored it and tried to live with Black together. I think at last of the story his aunt and uncle will find him and take him to their house. They didn't divorce because of Maniac and they live happily after. Than Maniac become adult and solve the problems between Black and white, after he solve the problem I think he will find Amanda and marry with her...

The red tree

Q) How did you relate to the story??

A) Sometimes I felt lonley like the main character when she felt when no body listen to her.

Q) What did the story mean to you??

A) The story mean to me as to help someone to step out from loneliness. For example if someone felt same things as the main charachter I will help that person by make his/her friends.

A) I have a lot of red tree that helps me. one of the most important tree is family. my family help me when ever and where ever I got trouble or problem and sometimes they teach me to go right way. the second important tree is friend. friend help me when I was lonely or boring they make me laugh and joyful. the third important tree is teachers. Of course they also teach me and other students to go right way and how to use skills and how to live.

Q)What makes you happy? Why?

A) I think my red trees make me so happy. This is because they like to play with me when ever where ever, they lke to talk with me and sometimes we make special events and we can remmember where ever we are and when ever. Those little things can makes me happy.

Mr.Linden'ts library

She couldn't believe!! That in her new book the grass was growing!! This was her story, yesterday she wanted to bought a new book to read. She always get new books to read when she finishes her book although sometimes she didn't finish her book but she just buy a new book because the book is boring I guess. Therefore, she went to Mr.Linden's library which is her favorite library because in Mr. Linden's library has tons of books that interest her. While she was in library, she picked up the book called "Tree" However, When she was in the casher Mr. Linden warned her "I am warning you do not open this book!!", and he tried to stop her. Then she started to curious and some other way she was so scared that she shaked her body like vibrating phone. Next day she was so curious that she wanted to open the book. Therefore, she ignored Mr. Linden's warning and she just opened her book. Suddenly!! the grass were growing on the book and covered all her body and ate her power and the grass let her to breath the last breath and she close her eyes and never woke up again.

third trimester.

I have a lot of things to do in third trimester. For example I have to work on responsible and respectful to the teachers.

Responsible: I think I need to be more responsible on 3rd trimester. This is because on second trimester I didn't really Response to the teachers . For example sometimes I say bad things about the teachers if the teachers gives me a lot of homework. However, I will stop talk about bad stuff and talk only good things while I with my friends.

Respectful: I also need some respectful to the teachers, because sometimes I speak Korean while I m in classes. Therefore teachers will understand what I am saying. However, the most bad thing is to not finish the homework. Therefore in third trimester I will do my best job in the homework and try to hand in on time.

These are the things that I have to work on, so then all the teachers will think that I am good student.

Experience in the Frim

On this wednesday all my 7b class went to science trip to Frim. The sight, food, hiking and playing card with my friends was so fun. However, while my tent mate which is Insung and me were sleeping there was heavy rain and made the sound really noisy ,therefore I couldn't sleep. Also, I hate leeches so I couldn't hike comfortble.


I think I learned a lot in this trip. I learned how to measure the trees, how to listen the sounds in the rainforest, how to catch fishes, how to hike and making tant. These skills was interesting because it was good experience and I can use these skills in next science trip. Hence, I didn't know the time was going until the final day, but it would be better if ms. gonnerman was in same class as me!!

Steve Mccurry

on last week all the seventh grader include me went to the musum. We learned about the factors of Musilm and the temples witch made out of thin woods.We also went to see Steve Mccurry's photos which taken in Afghanistan. This photo was taken on 1996.

In this photo their is a huge vessel and some kids are playing soccer freely in beach. In the musum I saw a lots of photos but this photo was try to remind me again and again because I am a soccer fan and those childrens were playing soccer but they didn't think about all the happening in the world because they were having fun and I felt that I don't want to let them to know about world because the world is really cruel.

If you look at this photo the childrens are playing soccer on the beach that means that countries or the world have no space to play and haveing fun. Hence, I feel that I want to make the soccer field or turf to let them play free. I always think that "when the all the bad happens in the world will finish?" Then when I saw this photo if I wait little more the bad happens will end because those childrens have their own hope. Therefore I am glad that not all people are cruel and their is end of bad things. Charlie And Chocolate Factory

The Charli and Chocolate Factory movie and book was breathtaking. I loved their characters, characters' characteristics and the way that the Chocolate factory looks. However, there was some differences and similarities betwin book and movie.

The differences betwin book's and movie's were their was only one bed in Charlie's house, grand pa Joe didn't works in Mr.WillyWonka's store, Verucca went chocolate factory with ger parents, the book didn't tell about MorWilly Wonka;s past sories and the movie was different from book. The similarities betwin book's and movie's were Charlie's family was poor, the childrens sisapearing was same mathoud, the elevator became helicopter and vilet's gum was chewed by three month.

I really loved those two stories, but I liked movie's more because, it had more detaile about Mr. Willy Wonka and the ending was more lovely. Hence, I liked movie more!!

Charlie and the chocolate factory reflection

Charlie and the chocolate factory was breathtaking. I loved the stories, there characters and the stories meaning which means Ronald Dalh tring to tell readers how you should do or not to in real life. In this story there is tons of characters include Charlie. Charlie is the main character in the story, he was patient in story whole time, and he was smart. There was also important four children who gets four golden tickets) character which they made me astonished. This is because their are so spotted and rude to their parents. In the story charlie's family characters are also important especially grand pa Joe because he knows all about Mr. Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, he also went to chocolate factory with charlie.

One day Mr. Willy Wonka sent a poster to whole country that there is five golden tickets that can go in to his factory. so there is five children include Charlie found the golden tickets. The four childrens are Augustus, Verruca, Voilet and Mike. When they go in to factory those childrens were getting punishment for beeing rude for their parents. Therefore other childrens got punished and got kicked out from factory. Hence, only Charly was left in chocolate factory.
Then Wonka said to Charlie "your the winner!!" when the last child got lost which is Mike Teeve.
After that they went to elevator and perforated the roof and became a helicopter than they went to Charlie's house to get their family. Whole family went in to chocolate factory and live happily after.

I really liked the book which is Charlie and the chocolate factory, because there was a lot of meaning that the book was tring to tell me.

Reflection of my myth story

I think I used Think Creatively because I reaserch a lot of informations from Internet and I got clear ideas.

For the good thing that I did well on this project is I obtained many valueble information, I got very clear idea of illustrious of chiron and that has to enable me to redraw him better.

For the bad things I found some great information but not enough and it was not very complete story. A some point I felt that I went out to the topics though I am really proud myself to finish this project and I think I did better then last project. Although I finish my project, I couldn't show my project to the young folks because I was sick. Therefore I feel very guilty to my classmates.

Pumkine story

I think the pumkine is alive and she is adopt to her step mother because as she wear she looks like adopted here is my story. One day her step mother gave her a work to do it was to prepare the hallowinday. So prepare for the hollwinday. For example: her step mother's cloth, decorate room and prepare the food...

While she preparing the food she had to cut the pumkine but when she try to cut the pumkine get bright and gave evil mind to her.
